چکیده

Resin-based dental materials consist of filler particles and different monomers that are light cured in situ to re-establish function aesthetics. Due the degree conversion adhesive polymers, triethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) released relatively high amounts susceptible degradation, acting as bioactive compounds affecting cell tissues. This study aimed assess effect HEMA TEGDMA exposure on metabolic activity, membrane integrity, survival human odontoblast-like (hOLCs). Exposure resin for 24 h induced major changes survival, which were measured by calcein method lactate dehydrogenase release. Increased early reactive oxygen species (ROS) production was observed leading degradative oxidation lipids identified malondialdehyde production. Severe alteration mitochondria occurred due transmembrane mitochondrial potential collapse, possibly inducing activation apoptotic death. hOLCs modified redox potential, with consequences permeability including function. Lipid peroxidation appears be a key phenomenon structures after exposure, death cytotoxicity. respond differential induction adaptive mechanisms maintain homeostasis. Modulation oxidative stress-induced response involves regulation genes encode antioxidant proteins such catalase heme oxygenase-1; functions critical protection mechanism against damage TEGDMA. Ascorbic acid an substance mitigates associated monomers.

Inhibition of odontogenic differentiation of human dental pulp cells by dental resin monomers

BACKGROUND Dental resin monomers that are leached from the resin matrix due to incomplete polymerization can affect the viability and various functions of oral tissues and cells. In this study, the effects of triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) on odontogenic differentiation of human dental pulp cells (HDPCs) were examined. To mimic clinical situati...

TWIST1 promotes the odontoblast-like differentiation of dental stem cells.

Stem cells derived from the dental pulp of extracted human third molars (DPSCs) have the potential to differentiate into odontoblasts, osteoblasts, adipocytes, and neural cells when provided with the appropriate conditions. To advance the use of DPSCs for dentin regeneration, it is important to replicate the permissive signals that drive terminal events in odontoblast differentiation during too...

Toxicity of chlorhexidine on odontoblast-like cells

UNLABELLED Chlorhexidine gluconate (CHX) is recommended for a number of clinical procedures and it has been pointed out as a potential cavity cleanser to be applied before adhesive restoration of dental cavities. OBJECTIVE As CHX may diffuse through the dentinal tubules to reach a monolayer of odontoblasts that underlies the dentin substrate, this study evaluated the cytotoxic effects of diff...

Genetic and cellular toxicology of dental resin monomers.

Monomers are released from dental resin materials, and thus cause adverse biological effects in mammalian cells. Cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of some of these methacrylates have been identified in a vast number of investigations during the last decade. It has been well-established that the co-monomer triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) causes gene mutations in vitro. The formation of mi...

Cytotoxicity of one-step dentin-bonding agents toward dental pulp and odontoblast-like cells.

The purpose of this study was to compare the cytotoxicity of five one-step dentin-bonding agents on human dental pulp and odontoblast-like cells (MDPC-23). Photopolymerized and unpolymerized samples of these dentin-bonding agents were prepared and incubated with dental pulp or MDPC-23 cells. After 24 or 72 h of incubation, the number of unstained cells with trypan blue was counted. The staining...
